If you’re like most people, you furnish your home in bits and pieces over time. What we hear from our clients time and again is that this piecemeal process leads to an incohesive space that leaves you feeling -bleh- and unsatisfied. Your home is missing that certain “je ne sais quoi” that makes it feel like it truly speaks to who you are and what you love but still wows in that way that only professional design does.

Maybe you’ve tried to reproduce designs you see on Instagram. Maybe you are trying to redesign your living room. Maybe you’re trying to outfit a studio apartment for AirBnb. But I know a lot of you are looking for a way to make your space truly unique.

Either way, you want to do something that hasn’t been done a hundred times over. (Because it’s always awkward when you and your best friend have the same area rug, and a third friend notices…). Besides, the truth is that those big box stores aren’t big on quality. Stuff breaks, falls apart, or worse, falls out of style within a few months.

As a professional interior decorator, I’m big on quality and style, mainly because that’s what my clients want. Whether they consider themselves high-end or they’ve been saving their pennies for years to do a much-needed revamp, they want their investment to go a long way, not come back to bite them.

The problem is that most high-quality, truly gorgeous home products - furniture, decor, and accessories - aren’t available in stores. They have to be purchased through an interior designer. And, to make the process even more overwhelming, much of the design industry is opaque. Well, at Julia Rose Interiors, we believe in being upfront. The truth cannot be sugar-coated — professional design is expensive. But, as with most things, you get what you pay for.

If this struggle for a truly unique, quality space describes you, I have a few solutions. First, I sell designer-quality home products on my website. You don’t need to be under contract with me. Just go pick what you like and buy it. If you need an entire room outfitted, I’d encourage you to review the investment guide linked in the announcement bar at the top of my website. The Investment Guide details estimated investment amounts for good, better, and the best levels of furnishings. When budgeting for design fees, add roughly 15-20% on top of the total furnishings cost for full-service design.

And if you don’t need an entire room but are looking for that perfect area rug, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite stylish and durable options. View, pick, and buy. It’s that easy! Lastly, if you’re just in the planning phase and not sure what you want yet, no pressure. Whether you are ready to buy or not, stay up-to-date on my public blog It will give you all the right ideas for your space.

Cheers,

Julia Rose
